St. Louis, Missouri, 15 September 2006 - After several years of dormancy, the Gateway Guardians once again protect the people of St. Louis. A member of the Guardians who chose not to merge with the Chicago-based team "The American Sentinels" has assembled a new team of heroes to bear the Guardians name and continue their work. The new team has already assisted branches of local law enforcement and the international organization GRYPHON in the capture of several dangerous super-powered criminals.

An armored hero known as Electric Fox spoke to the press from the steps of City Hall to announce, "The Gateway Guardians once again strive to protect the people of the city of St. Louis. We have a long history of doing what is right because it is the right thing to do, and we are proud to be able to continue this tradition."

Electric Fox introduced the new team. That team consists of himself, Bonfire, a fiery lava-like woman, who has had extensive experience doing emergency search and rescue in large-scale fires and disasters internationally, and Vivace who he described as an "information-gathering expert, and martial artist."

Backing up their clams of wanting to return law and order to the city is the team's recent involvement of the capture and arrest of Thunderstrike and Firepulse, as well as their earlier assistance in capturing Steel Monkey and preventing the theft of two dangerous and rare pieces of equipment. Electric Fox added, "We have worked with GRYPHON and the police, and would not have been able to achieve our successes without them."

When Electric Fox opened the floor to the press for questions, the reporter from KMOV-TV asked, "We heard reports that you were working with The Crimson Star, a vigilante known to be dangerous. Is this true, and is she a member of your team?" Electric Fox replied, "We have worked with The Crimson Star, and likely will again. She is valued ally, although not a member of the Gateway Guardians at this time."

To conclude the press conference, Electric Fox asked everyone to call on the Gateway Guardians if they were aware of a situation outside of what traditional law enforcement could assist with.
